The Role
As a Recovery Operator, you'll operate specialized recovery equipment including winches, pulleys, and lifting apparatus to safely recover accident-damaged, disabled, and stuck vehicles. This role requires technical skill, problem-solving ability, and strong safety awareness.
You'll work in diverse conditions, from roadside accidents to site recoveries, and be responsible for assessing damage, planning recovery procedures, and executing them safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate recovery winches and specialized lifting equipment
- Assess vehicle damage and recovery requirements
- Plan and execute safe recovery procedures
- Manage tow lines, chains, and rigging equipment
- Communicate with dispatch and customers during operations
- Work safely in hazardous road and site conditions
- Maintain detailed recovery documentation
- Ensure compliance with recovery safety standards
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver License (Class C minimum)
- Recovery operations certification or accreditation
- 3+ years recovery or heavy towing experience
- Outstanding safety and driving record
- First Aid or similar safety qualification
- Australian working rights
